What is Pandemic?

A pandemic is the worldwide spread of a new disease.

Starting from China, the virus is spreading the disease named COVID-19 worldwide, which will become the deadliest pandemic for the whole world, which is symptomatic – hunger, cough, sore throat, pain, etc.

So far, 532,328 people have been infected with the coronavirus, and 24,090 people have died. With this, 124,355 people have also recovered from this disease. It was declared GLOBAL EMERGENCY by the World Health Organization (WHO) on 11 January 2020. And on 11 March 2020, the condition was declared as PANDEMIC.

What is Pandemic:

A pandemic is the worldwide spread of a new disease. Pandemic is a Greek word that means ‘all people,’ pan means “all” and demos “people” in the Greek language.

Definition of Pandemic:

A pandemic is defined as “an epidemic occurring worldwide, or over a very wide area, crossing international boundaries and usually affecting a large number of people”.

Not all diseases are epidemics. An epidemic is said only to be a disease that spreads throughout the world. If it is an example; Take cancer, many people have also died due to cancer, but it is not infected; that is, it does not spread by coming in contact with each other.

10 Deadliest Pandemic of the world in History

Any virus infects animals first, then infection from animals to humans. The virus then spreads directly from person to person and as an epidemic.

Declaration process:

The WHO has now stopped using its six-phase archaic process, covering stage six (an epidemic-causing human infection) to phase six (an epidemic). Which can be introduced to the 2009 H1N1.

A lot has changed in this process since 2009. The organization says that there is no longer any formal process to classify the outbreak as an epidemic. On 30 January, the organization stated that the plague is a public health disaster. According to international health regulations, it is a high-level classification to describe an outbreak of any disease.

Viruses could be a fuel for future batteries

When a disease is declared an epidemic, it means that the disease is spreading among people. This serves as a warning to the government. The government and the health system must make special preparations to deal with the disease. All effective programs have to be stopped, and if the condition is spreading fast, then big cities will also have to be completely locked. Due to the coronavirus, many countries and cities around the world are entirely closed.

Pandemic Phases:

  • Phase 1: Animal-To-Animal Infection Only
  • Phase 2: Animal-To-Human Infection
  • Phase 3: Sporadic Or Clustered Cases In Humans
  • Phase 4: The New Virus Passes From Person To Person, But Transmission Is Limited A Certain Location.
  • Phase 5: There Is Frequent Transmission Of The Virus Between People In A Particular Place, But It Hasn’t Spread To The Rest Of The World.
  • Phase 6: Pandemic. The Virus Is Widespread Worldwide.

Epidemic management:

It is possible to stop the epidemic. The basic strategies in the control of an outbreak are containment and mitigation.

For this, people and the government should be alert and alert in time. Containment may be undertaken in the early stages of the outbreak, including contact tracing and isolating infected individuals to stop the disease from spreading to the rest of the population.

And then for its elimination, it can be eliminated by providing its medicine AND vaccinations(if available) which may be effective to all people.
